
LINCOLN, Neb. — Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been C.J. Stroud’s favorite target in the first half of Ohio State football’s game against Nebraska. He’d caught six passes for 65 yards, but it was his seven-catch that gave the Buckeyes their first explosive play of the afternoon. The slot receiver took a routine 10-yard pass and turned it into a 75-yard touchdown giving them a 17-7 lead. Nebraska would respond on the following drive with a 72-yard pass from Adrian Martinez to Samori Toure to make it 17-10. This is the straight second-week Smith-Njigba has turned a routine play into an explosive one for OSU. He nearly scored on one against Penn State was tripped up right before the endzone for a 58-yard catch. He came into the game with 35 catches for 648 yards and three touchdowns.
