Otherwise, the Buckeyes could have become the next victim to one unique piece of Big Ten history. With a 40-29 victory over No. 5 Michigan State on Saturday, the Boilermakers earned their 17th victory as an unranked team over a top-five opponent. That’s the most all-time.
