AP Top 25 poll: Where is Ohio State football in the Week 11 college football rankings?


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football held steady in the new AP Top 25 poll, as the playoff selection committee’s first reveal appeared to influence the college rankings. The Buckeyes stayed at No. 6 because Oregon, the team that beat them on Sept. 11, jumped from No. 7 to No. 5. A group of voters who had been voting OSU ahead of the Ducks despite that head-to-head result apparently changed their minds. The first playoff rankings also had Oregon (4) ahead of Ohio State (5), and selection committee chair Gary Barta confirmed the head-to-head result at Ohio Stadium was a big factor. Michigan State fell from No. 5 to No. 8 following its 40-29 loss to Purdue, which is Ohio State’s next opponent. The Spartans are one spot ahead of Michigan.
