COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football remains in the latest cut for the top-ranked cornerback in the nation. Cormani McClain, a five-star cornerback out of Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Fla., kept the Buckeyes in his revised five. They are joined by Florida, Miami, Alabama and newly-added BYU, which replaced Florida State from his previous top five in August. McClain made the announcement on Sunday afternoon via his Twitter. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound McClain is the top-ranked CB in the nation and the No. 10 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the 247sports.com composite rankings. He has five interceptions and one fumble recovery in seven games during his junior campaign. He nabbed nine interceptions and 29 tackles while racking up 468 receiving yards in nine starts last season.
