Ryan Day had an interesting observation Tuesday about his sport. “I think college football could maybe be the only sport in the world where it matters sometimes how you win,” the Ohio State coach said. Day said it matter-of-factly, with bemusement more than frustration. But it’s clear that the criticism about Ohio State’s recent play has penetrated the walls of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. After a month of cruising to lopsided victories with an offense that scored at least 50 points per game, the Buckeyes have muddled to 9-point victories over Penn State and Nebraska the past two weeks.
