The Buckeyes offense has been held in check, somewhat, the past two games, but on Saturday Ohio State showed why it’s still one of the top offenses in college football. During the first half against No. 19 Purdue, Ohio State’s explosive unit scored 45 points, including a 57-yard romp from freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson to give OSU a 21-14 lead. The Buckeyes went into the half with a 45-17 lead. The Buckeyes saw the return of Garrett Wilson yield one touchdown pass in the first quarter, and two more scores in the second. Another standout receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, hauled in a 20-yard score. ESPN College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit, a former Ohio State quarterback, predicted the offense would explode against Purdue, and the first half reflected that.
