With the latest College Football Playoff rankings set to be released tonight, the Big Ten Conference finds itself in an advantageous position. Yes, only one team currently finds itself in the top four necessary to qualify for the playoff (Ohio State, at No. 4), but there are two others, Michigan (No. 6) and Michigan Michigan State (No. 7), hot on its trails. Making things even more intriguing is the way the schedule sets up over the next two weeks. The Spartans visit Columbus, Ohio, this Saturday (Noon, ABC) to play the Buckeyes, while the annual Michigan-Ohio State rivalry showdown is set for a week later, Nov. 27, in Ann Arbor. In the end, this is all going to sort itself out. Ohio State currently holds a one-game lead in the standings over Michigan and Michigan State, while MSU holds the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Wolverines. But here’s where things stand…
