Kenneth Walker’s (next-to-) last stand There is no player in recent MSU history who has elevated the Spartans more than running back Kenneth Walker — the Wake Forest transfer-turned-Heisman Trophy candidate. He’ll go down as one of the greats in MSU lore. He was the Spartans’ equalizer against Michigan, their advantage at Miami, and their knockout punch at Northwestern and Rutgers. He’s the top story in this extraordinary MSU season, with two games left to impress Heisman voters. He’ll walk into Columbus a marked man. Or at least he should be.
