Jim Harbaugh, Michigan stun Ohio State for Big Ten title game berth


ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The proverbial monkey is off Jim Harbaugh’s back. Ten years after Michigan last claimed victory over rival Ohio State, the sixth-ranked Wolverines pulled off a surprise upset Saturday, jumping ahead of second-ranked Buckeyes and cruising to a 42-27 win at Michigan Stadium. The win not only snaps an ugly eight-game losing skid to Ohio State, a losing streak that included 17 of the last 19 meetings and stretched all the way back to 2001, but launches Michigan into the Big Ten championship game next Saturday, Dec. 4. The Wolverines will play either Wisconsin or Iowa in Indianapolis. To get there, Michigan stuck to its game plan that has worked for most of the season.
