Ohio State’s early exit rededicates staff time to recruiting, handful of offers: Buckeyes Recruiting Roundup


COLUMBUS, Ohio — An unexpected early exit to the postseason has led Ohio State’s staff to a huge opportunity in building the next few recruiting classes. On Monday, the Buckeyes offered 2023 defensive lineman A’mauri Washington of Chandler High School (Ariz.). Washington is ranked as a four-star and has 14 offers including USC, Texas A&M, Penn State, Oregon and Michigan. Washington is the nation’s No. 85 player, No. 13 defensive lineman and Arizona’s No. 2 player. The 6-foot-5, 295-pounder had 27 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two blocked punts across six games this season. He is also a teammate of Ohio State’s 2022 wide receiver commit Kyion Grayes.
