Michigan’s 42-3 victory over Iowa in the Big Ten championship game at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday night locked up a College Football Playoff spot. The Wolverines were No. 2 in last week’s rankings. That will make Ohio State the highest-ranked Big Ten team outside the playoff invitees. Unless the Tournament of Roses selection committee decides to shake things up unexpectedly, the Buckeyes will play Pac-12 champion Utah in the New Year’s Day game in Pasadena, California.
