NEW YORK — Ohio State football quarterback C.J. Stroud wore nearly 80 years of Buckeye history to the Heisman Trophy ceremony on Saturday night. Stroud wore a custom suit made by Texas designer Rick Soto. On the outside, the dark blue suit featured red stripes. On the inside, an array of block Os each included a photo of a past Buckeye Heisman winner. Fittingly the photos were mostly black-and-white, as those winners stretch back to Les Horvath in 1944. Other winners included Vic Janowicz (1950), Howard “Hopalong” Cassady (1955), Archie Griffin (1974-75), Eddie George (1995) and Troy Smith (2006). Stroud said he met Griffin earlier this weekend, and had a phone conversation with Smith on Friday night.
