Kentucky basketball will face North Carolina in Las Vegas as replacement for Ohio State

LEXINGTON – Kentucky basketball will get its marquee matchup in Las Vegas this weekend after all. After positive COVID-19 tests at UCLA and Ohio State disrupted the plan for the annual CBS Sports Classic doubleheader, event organizers have now scheduled a matchup between No. 21 Kentucky and North Carolina for 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Kentucky was originally scheduled to face No. 15 Ohio State in the CBS Sports Classic, but that matchup was canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests within the Buckeyes’ program Thursday. Despite not having a confirmed opponent, UK’s team still flew to Las Vegas Thursday evening.
