Ohio State women's basketball game against UCLA canceled due to COVID-19 concerns


LOS ANGELES — As it turns out, neither of Ohio State’s basketball teams will be in action this weekend. The contest will not be made up, and marks the first time this year OSU’s squad has had a game either postponed or canceled due to health reasons. Since it would’ve been an out-of-conference showdown, it will not count as a forfeit for the Bruins, per Pac-12 rules. Sports across the state of Ohio and the country have been grappling with America’s latest COVID-19 surge, with basketball teams at Akron, Cleveland State, and Kent State all forced to either cancel or move games. UCLA’s men’s team was also supposed to play North Carolina in the CBS Sports Classic before some of their players tested positive for the virus, and now the Tar Heels will face Kentucky with OSU out.
