Chris Holtmann says Ohio State basketball “fully intends” to play New Orleans next week


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball has had to cancel its last two games after a handful of its players tested positive for COVID-19. The Buckeyes missed out on a chance to face Kentucky in Las Vegas as part of the CBS Sports Classic and play a home game against Tennessee Martin. Team-related activities have been suspended, and only players who tested negative have been able to participate in individual workouts. But head coach Chris Holtmann is positive that his team will be back on the court on Dec. 28 when they play New Orleans. “There’s no question it’s a concern,” Holtmann said on his weekly radio show on 97.1. “That’s why we fully intend to play the game on the 28th and plan to play the game on the 28th.” Missing out on the game against the Wildcats erased another opportunity for OSU to get a ranked win while…
