
8:24 PM ET It was a record-breaking day for Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the Rose Bowl presented by Capital One Venture X. Smith-Njigba broke the Rose Bowl receiving record, the Ohio State single-game receiving record and the Ohio State receiving record for a season on Saturday against Utah. With 257 receiving yards through the third quarter, Smith-Njigba broke Terry Glenn’s school record of 253 yards against Pitt in 1995, and Smith-Njigba did it on only 10 receptions. In addition to the Ohio State record, Smith-Njigba also broke the Rose Bowl record, beating Keyshawn Johnson’s previous record of 216 yards. If that wasn’t enough, the sophomore passed David Boston’s previous single season record of 1,435 yards in 1998.
