EJ Liddell, Malaki Branham form 'dangerous' offensive duo in Buckeye win vs. Northwestern

Ohio State was without head coach Chris Holtmann and without assistant coach Ryan Pedon. But a career day from junior EJ Liddell on Sunday night made life easy on acting head coach Jake Diebler. “It sure helps to have EJ Liddell,” Diebler said as he sat down for the postgame press conference following a 95-87 win against Northwestern. While Holtmann and Pedon were in health and safety protocols, something the team learned on Saturday, it was Liddell who was missing in action the last two games. The forward, who averaged north of 19 points per game prior to the Buckeyes’ three-week COVID pause to close out the calendar year, had just 21 points in the last two contests combined, shooting 5-of-26.
