
COLUMBUS, Ohio — When Kerry Coombs returned to Ohio State football’s staff, he brought back a fiery sideline presence, a proven track record of developing defensive backs and a long connection to both the state and the Buckeyes. But when his game day responsibilities as defensive coordinator were removed two games into his second season, it hastened the end of his second tenure. Lettermen Row first reported Thursday that Coombs will not return to the coaching staff in 2022, and multiple other reports confirmed.
