
COLUMBUS, Ohio — New Ohio State football offensive line coach Justin Frye will make $800,000 annually in his two-year contract with the Buckeyes. Frye will also receive a one-time lump-sum payment of $51,389. The contract details were obtained by cleveland.com through a public records request. Ryan Day hired Frye to succeed Greg Studrawa, who was not retained with his contract set to expire at the end of the month. He also holds the title of associate head coach for offense. Frye’s salary is both a $100,000 raise over what he received as UCLA’s offensive coordinator and offensive line coach and $100,000 more than Studrawa’s salary the past two seasons. Frye comes from UCLA, where he served as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach under Chip Kelly, a longtime friend and mentor of OSU coach Ryan Day.
