Projecting Ohio State football’s 2022 offensive depth chart: Buckeyes have questions in the trenches


COLUMBUS, Ohio — We learned last summer not to make sweeping assumptions about Ohio State football’s offensive line. With new offensive line coach Justin Frye bringing a new set of eyes to the evaluations, projections for the starting five up front becomes even more difficult. On paper, though, the situation appears to be a mirror image of what the Buckeyes dealt with last fall. There may be six starting-caliber and qualified players for only five spots. While tackles pushed their way into starting guard spots last season, the 2022 group has extra interior bodies. Matt Jones performed well in a difficult role as the sixth man, though OSU did find him a decent amount of snaps. Does he deserve the benefit of the doubt to hold down a starting spot this fall? Harry Miller started at left guard in 2020 and was in line to start at center in 2021…
