Will Smith Jr., 4-star safety, commits to Ohio State football: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s 2023 recruiting class has added a fourth member in Will Smith Jr. of Dublin Coffman High School. The three-star recruit is the nation’s No. 537 player and No. 71 defensive lineman, choosing the Buckeyes just a few days after earning an offer. More importantly, he’s a Buckeye legacy as the son of former defensive man Will Smith who was a four-year letterman from 2000-03. Smith helped OSU win its only national title under Jim Tressel in 2002 and was a first-team All-American the following year. He went on to be the 18th pick in the 2004 NFL Draft spending nine seasons with the New Orleans Saints recording 463 tackles, 85 tackles for loss and 67.5 sacks.
