A stretch unlike any other in Ohio State men’s basketball history officially got underway Sunday. As the Buckeyes hosted Maryland at what marked their midpoint of Big Ten play, it started what is hoped to be a stretch of 11 games in 29 days culminating with a March 6 senior day against Michigan at Value City Arena. Ohio State easily handled the Terrapins, holding a double-digit lead throughout and cruising to an 82-67 win thanks to another double-double from E.J. Liddell and a breakout shooting performance from senior Justin Ahrens. The Buckeyes improved to 14-5 overall and 7-3 in league play with a pair of road games looming on the horizon: at Rutgers on Wednesday night and at Michigan three days later.
