There is no offseason for the Michigan and Ohio State rivalry. In a recent interview with Wolverines Digest, Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy stoked the rivalry while discussing last year’s 42-28 victory that snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Buckeyes. “For us, the whole 10-year stretch of us not winning, that’s all we know is beating Ohio State right now,” McCarthy said. “So we’re going to keep that going.” It didn’t take long for McCarthy’s comment to make its way into OSU’s facilities. On Monday morning, OSU linebacker Teradja Mitchell shared on photo on his Instagram story that displayed McCarthy’s quote inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Naturally, McCarthy fired back, sharing a screenshot of Mitchell’s photo on his Instagram with the comment, “Rent free.” Obviously, the rivalry is important to all players on both teams, but it is especially meaningful to McCarthy, a former five-star recruit in the 2021 class.…
