
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Shane Olivea was a national champion with Ohio State football in 2002 and an NFL Draft steal who rose from seventh-round pick to become one of the highest-paid offensive tackles in the game. He also dealt with addition to painkillers, returning to finish his degree after his football career and hoping to serve as an example to others. Olivea died this week at age 40, according to social media posts from multiple former OSU and NFL teammates. A cause of death was not immediately known.
