
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Michigan made sure that whatever happened between Illinois and Iowa tonight didn’t matter by beating Ohio State basketball 75-69. The Buckeyes were already not in complete control of their postseason destiny but could at least do their part by sweeping the season series against the Wolverines. Doing so — along with the Illini beating the Hawkeyes — would give them a top-four seed and a double-bye in the Big Ten Tournament. Except it couldn’t take care of the ball, thus not taking care of business. Despite turning it over seven times, OSU’s turnovers weren’t costly in the first half. Only two of those were converted into points. That, combined with a 56 percent shooting effort in comparison to Michigan shooting 36 percent, allowed it to take a 39-30 lead into halftime.
