Clair DeGeorge has been an instrumental player in the Ohio State women’s hockey team’s success this season. But she’s been criticized for one aspect of her game. “I get told a lot to shoot the puck,” DeGeorge said. Buckeyes coach Nadine Muzerall quickly chimed in with a smile, “A lot.” Entering Saturday’s NCAA quarterfinal tournament game against Quinnipiac, DeGeorge had only 71 shots on goal in 35 games. DeGeorge scored two goals, including the game-winner in double overtime to send Ohio State to the Frozen Four in State College, Pennsylvania, with a 4-3 victory.
