CantonRep.com staff report | The Repository PALM BEACH, Fla. — Ohio State sophomore Maxwell Moldovan, a Green High School product, fired three rounds in the 60s and cruised to a six-stroke win during the Southern Invitational at The Falls Club this week. Moldovan finished the tournament with a 5-under 67 on Tuesday after rounds of 66 and 68 on Monday for a total of 201. Florida Atlantic’s Max Sturdza was the closest competitor to Moldovan at 207. Moldovan’s overall 15-under is the lowest 54-hole score in relation to par by a Buckeye since 1980. He made 18 birdies and three bogeys. Moldovan’s wire-to-wire win led the Buckeyes to a dominating team win, their first in nearly three years. Ohio State took first in the 11-team field with a 30-under 834.
