COLUMBUS, Ohio — Bryson Shaw stepped in for an injured Josh Proctor in 2021 and attempted to stabilize the back end of Ohio State football’s defense. After the loss at Michigan, he spoke on behalf of the entire defense, displaying the poise and leadership skills that might have helped the Buckeyes behind the scenes. For 2022, Shaw’s role again appeared to be as a backup waiting for an opportunity. The junior took that quest into his own hands Monday when he entered the transfer portal. Redshirt sophomore Lejond Cavazos also informed the program he intends to move on.
