Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline and running backs coach Tony Alford received pay raises following their promotions in January. Hartline, who added passing game coordinator to his title, is making $950,000 this year, up from the $600,000 annual base salary he was paid in 2021, while Alford saw a $132,000 raise to $750,000 after being named run game coordinator in addition to his other responsibilities. The university provided copies of their contacts to The Dispatch on Wednesday following a public records request. The sizeable pay bump now makes Hartline the second-highest-paid position coach on the Buckeyes’ staff after only veteran defensive line coach Larry Johnson, who is due $1.13 million over 2022. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson also earn seven-figure salaries at $1.9 million and $1.4 million, respectively.
