What Dijon Johnson’s commitment means to Ohio State football: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football didn’t have a ton of 2023 targets in town for its Spring Game on Saturday as, instead, the 2024 class dominated in terms of numbers. But the guys who came were still of high importance. Most fell under one of two categories: commit or right on the edge. Cornerback Dijon Johnson belonged to the latter, and now he heads home as the newest member of the 2023 class. Hes’ the first cornerback to choose the Buckeyes since Tim Walton was hired as the new position coach. This is an important first cycle for Walton. The next two years of cornerback play at Ohio State look optimistic, with Denzel Burke, Jordan Hancock and Jakailin Johnson already establishing significant roles as second-year players. Jyaire Brown and Ryan Turner show promise as 2022 early enrollees. The ceiling for the room is high, but the depth is not.…
