Seth Towns returning to Ohio State basketball for final college season in 2022-23


COLUMBUS, Ohio — In an Ohio State basketball offseason headlined by departures, Seth Towns’ return provides some stability. The Columbus Dispatch’s Adam Jardy first reported Towns said he will be with the Buckeyes in 2022-23 for his seventh season of college eligibility. The forward missed all of last season while recovering from back surgery he underwent last summer. He planned to return mid-season but by February had to shut down for the year. Towns began his career at Harvard and was the Ivy League Player of the Year in 2018. Injuries cost him the final two seasons of his Harvard career, and he joined OSU as a graduate transfer in 2020. Th 6-8, 230-pound Columbus native averaged 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds over 25 games in 2020-21, shooting 34.1 % from 3-point range with five double-digit games.
