
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Marcus Hooker’s uneven Ohio State football career has apparently reached its conclusion. Cleveland.com confirmed a 247 Sports report that Hooker has entered the transfer portal. The senior safety became the fourth Buckeye to submit his intent to transfer since the Spring Game and the 10th on defense to do so since the end of last season. Hooker appeared on the verge of a breakthrough in 2020 when he beat out Josh Proctor for the free safety job to open the season. That position remained an area concern all season, however. When Hooker was injured late in the season, Proctor reclaimed the starting job and held it through the national championship game. In the offseason, Hooker was arrested for the second time in his career for a drunk driving incident.
