Recruiting. It’s the lifeblood of any college football program and Ohio State does it better than almost everyone. And despite a rather ho-hum start to the 2023 recruiting cycle, the Buckeyes were still hanging around in the top five. And now, after the verbal commitment of 5-star wide receiver Carnell Tate, Ohio State had moved all the way up to No. 2 in the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings for 2023. The Buckeyes now have a total of 11 commitments with an average of 93.39 per player and a total score of 215.82, considerably behind No. Notre Dame, which has a total score of 251.59 with its 15 commitments (92.72 average).
