What Arch Manning’s Texas commitment means to Ohio State football: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Arch Manning used his Twitter account for the first time to tell the world that he’s headed to Texas. The nation’s top player and quarterback in the Class of 2023 ended the most sought-after recruitment since…well…the guy he’s signed up to back up. Manning holds a perfect recruit rating right now. The last player to do that was Quinn Ewers, the five-star who committed to Ohio State football’s 2022 class, reclassified to show up in 2021, then left after six months to go home to the Longhorns. Their decisions mean Austin, Texas, has been home to all three quarterbacks who’ve ever held that perfect rating, with the other being Vince Young.
