Ranking states by number of Ohio State football commitments since 2000


Ohio State football is a national brand. But it didn’t used to be as much as is today. You don’t have to look too far in the past when the Buckeyes would try to put a fence around the football-rich state of Ohio and cherry-pick other players from states to fill out a roster. Players wore the Ohio badge of honor when competing on the field. Coaches at OSU will still always try to keep the best kids from the home state of Ohio in Columbus, but with the population of this great country of ours moving south and west and away from the midwest, there’s a bigger premium of getting the best kids you can no matter where they reside.
