
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four-star safety Jayden Bonsu is approaching the final stage of his recruitment. Ohio State found out Saturday it is one of his finalists, along with Miami, Michigan State, Penn State and Alabama. Bonsu set his commitment date for August 20. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder out St. Peters Prep in New Jersey is the No. 24 safety and the No. 271 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the 247sports.com composite. He recorded 62 tackles and 7.5 TFL with two forced fumbles and two interceptions in his junior season. Fresh off an official visit on June 17-19, the Buckeyes have one crystal ball in their favor from 247Sports’ Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. This was Bonsu’s second visit to Columbus since he was offered back in December.
