Calvin Simpson-Hunt, 4-star CB, commits to Ohio State football: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football is coming off a successful recruiting week by adding wide receivers on three-straight days and now it’s the defense’s turn. OSU’s 2023 class added its second defensive commitment of the summer by way of flipping Calvin Simpson-Hunt from Texas Tech. The nation’s No. 173 player and No. 22 cornerback chose the Buckeyes over 23 other schools with his decision coming following his decommitment from Texas Tech. He joins Dijon Johnson and Kayin Lee — who committed on Monday — as cornerbacks in the class. The four-star recruit is the four commitment from a player not from either Florida or Ohio, joining Lee, tight end Ty Lockwood and wide receiver Noah Rogers. He’s also the seventh commitment from Texas during the Ryan Day era. Simpson-Hunt gives the Buckeyes 15 commits worth 264.19 points, once again overtaking Notre Dame as the nation’s top recruiting class. To…
