COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s latest addition to its 2023 recruiting class gave its new secondary coaches a chance to experience what life in the big city is like. Perry Eliano has spent his career working up to get to this point. Tim Walton’s been in the NFL for the past decade where recruiting wasn’t in his job description. Neither has been in a spot where their teams often got the first, second and any other pick they wanted. Now they have that and the result was landing Calvin Simpson-Hunt after the cornerback spent more than six months as a Texas Tech commit. Simpson-Hunt chose the Red Raiders when he wasn’t considered a top 300 recruit as he helped them build up a class that at one point ranked as high as second nationally.
