
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s 2025 recruiting class opened with a needed jolt at cornerback. The sites have not yet ranked to that class, so we cannot give you the numerical comparisons for Atlanta’s Jontae Gilbert. No stars, no rating. He came to OSU’s camp in June, picked up an offer and decided to bite while it was fresh. That position, though, could already project as a potentially crucial one for that class. Here is what we can assess about the potential cornerback room in 2025: • If Denzel Burke, Jordan Hancock or J.K. Johnson are still around as fifth-year seniors, something very weird happened. • Jyaire Brown and Ryan Turner might be around as fourth-year players.
