
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football will conduct the first of 25 preseason practices Thursday morning at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. The Buckeyes begin practice 30 days prior to their Sept. 3 season opener against Notre Dame at Ohio Stadium. About two-thirds of the practices occur before classes begin on Aug. 23. Four dates are currently scheduled to include open viewing windows for reporters: Thursday and Friday, Aug. 11 for the Big Ten Fall Camp Tour, and Aug. 15. Ohio State finished 11-2 last season, missing the playoff for the first time in three years. While its four-year run of Big Ten championships ended, it defeated Utah 48-45 in the Rose Bowl. Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback C.J. Stroud and record-setting receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba return to lead the offense.
