Ohio State football coach Ryan Day makes $1 million gift to fund mental health research at OSU

Ohio State football coach Ryan Day is continuing his campaign to raise awareness of the importance of mental health. On Wednesday, Day and his wife Christina announced a $1 million donation to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and College of Medicine. The money will fund The Nina and Ryan Day Resilience Fund, which will be housed in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. The Day family has already established The Christina and Ryan Day Fund for Pediatric and Adolescent Mental Wellness through Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Ohio State president Kristina Johnson spoke at the ceremony at which Day’s donation was announced and pointed to former Buckeye Harry Miller’s courageous sharing of his own struggles as one sign that Day is putting his belief into practice.
