What Jayden Bonsu’s commitment means to Ohio State football: Buckeyes Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football may have wrapped up its secondary recruiting for the 2023 class and had to fight off a southern surge to do so. The Buckeyes had already locked in cornerbacks Calvin Simpson-Hunt, Kayin Lee and Jermaine Mathews, along with safeties Malik Hartford and Cedrick Hawkins by the end of June. That left them to spend the rest of the summer trying to lockdown Caleb Downs and Jayden Bonsu as their last two targets. They were in a good spot with the five-star downs coming out of his June 24 official visit, while the same may not have been able to be said about the four-star Bonsu, who was starting to trend toward Miami.
