Ohio State football receiver Kyion Grayes loses black helmet stripe as young receivers keep coming


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Another Ohio State football freshman receiver is making a move in preseason camp. Kyion Grayes posted a photo on his Instagram account of his black stripe laying next to the helmet it once adorned. That would make him the second receiver from OSU’s 2022 freshman class to go through the ceremony of becoming an “official” Buckeye. Kaleb Brown lost his black stripe on Tuesday. He had been the first freshman offensive player to lose his stripe. The top of the receiver room is obviously set, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr., Julian Fleming and Emeka Egbuka seemingly locked in for prominent roles. As a top-100 prospect out of Chandler, Arizona, Grayes has always intrigued with his long-term potential.
