
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s injured hamstring will keep him out of Ohio State football’s lineup Saturday against Arkansas State. The junior receiver — listed as a game-time decision on the pregame availability report — was not on the field during position group warm-ups prior to the game. When the full team came out for warm-ups, Smith-Njigba came out in sweats. Smith-Njigba turned 95 receptions into a program-record 1,606 receiving yards last season. However, he totaled only 3 yards on two receptions in the season opener against Notre Dame. He appeared to suffer the hamstring injury on the Buckeyes’ second offensive possession. Smith-Njigba returned later in the first half and caught his second pass, and attempted to play early in the second half before shutting down.
