
Ohio State’s passing game clicked. The Buckeyes’ defense kept Arkansas State out of the end zone. No. 3 Ohio State’s 45-12 victory in front of 100,067 Saturday included much to like. But fully satisfying? Not really. The opponent was Arkansas State, after all, a 44-point underdog from the Sun Belt Conference. The Red Wolves were supposed to accept their $1.8 million payday and provide little resistance. Instead, they trailed by only eight late in the second quarter after putting together three lengthy drives leading to field goals. But Ohio State’s superior talent then took over. Marvin Harrison caught the second of his three touchdown receptions to give the Buckeyes a 24-9 halftime lead, and they scored two quick touchdowns in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
