Ohio State football’s running back room running low on options even if the production’s still there: Stephen Means’ observations


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Three observations from Stephen Means after Ohio State football’s 77-21 win over Toledo on Saturday. 1. TreVeyon Henderson closed out the Buckeyes’ opening drive with a seven-yard run that concluded with him celebrating in the endzone. Then we never saw him again. The second-year running back spent some time in the locker room before coming back out and spending the rest of his day as a spectator with four carries for 19 yards. That gave Miyan Williams plenty of opportunities that turned into 10 carries into 77 yards before his day was over by halftime. Then came Dallan Hayden with OSU’s first 100-yard performance — 108 yards and a score on 17 carries — since a win over Purdue last season.
