Rutgers redshirt tracker: Breakout RB Samuel Brown leads group that burned eligibility vs. Ohio State

A number of Rutgers players ripped off the redshirt band-aid last weekend. The most prominent Scarlet Knight among the group: true freshman running back Samuel Brown. The Philadelphia native made his fifth appearance of the season in Saturday’s loss to No. 3 Ohio State, a game where he led the running back room in rushing (79 yards on 15 carries) for the third consecutive contest. After enrolling in the summer — months after the majority of his 2022 classmates — Brown has emerged as one of Rutgers’ top backfield options.
