
Junior Abby Danson has started every game in goal for the Ohio State field hockey team.Danson, from Clifton Park and a Shenendehowa High graduate, has been on the field for 5,790.46 minutes. The Buckeyes are 5-5 overall and 1-3 in the Big Ten Conference after topping Michigan State 2-1 in overtime in a league game Sept. 30 and blanking Kent 4-0 in a nonleague contest last Sunday. Danson has given up nine goals (0.93 goals-against average) and has 48 saves (.842 save percentage). The shutout over Kent was her fourth of the season. Two of the team’s losses were by 1-0 scores and two by 2-0 scores. The Ohio State coaching staff had a good idea of Danson’s potential when she started the final 13 games of the 2020-21 season (fall and spring) and posted a 7-6 record.
