EAST LANSING — Michigan State football’s Jaden Mangham was taken off the field Saturday following a head-to-head collision with Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson. The freshman, making his second start at safety for the Spartans, raced across the field track down Henderson as he turned the corner for a 13-yard run late in the first quarter. As they collided, the Buckeyes star lowered his shoulder and helmet right into Mangham’s chin. Mangham immediately fell to the ground with 1:37 to play in the quarter, and trainers attended to him for about six minutes. A medical cart came out, and team staff put Mangham on a backboard before lifting him onto the vehicle.
