Ohio State football is halfway home to a playoff party it has never experienced


COLUMBUS, Ohio — On the eve of the season, many assumed if Ohio State football had a claim to lead the chase for the top seed in the College Football Playoff, it would do so on the strength of its schedule. The first six games included dates with preseason No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 15 Michigan State and No. 18 Wisconsin. The back half of the schedule featured No 8 Michigan and Iowa and Penn State teams with some support from the consensus.
